Once again Microsoft ran two Dirty Weekends here, one for new recruits in May and another for the old hands at the end of July. It was a little sad to see some of the very old hands not making it this year, because of changes in lifestyle, family building etc. but it was also good to welcome lots of new faces. The Microsoft groups are always very enthusiastic and hard riding, and it takes a mammoth effort for organiser, Andy Gitsham, to co-ordinate such busy people for these Dirty Weekends. So much so that in July he commented to me that he didn't think he would continue as organising genius. It was very satisfying, then, that he was given a gift and a lot of appreciation from his group on their last night. Well done Andy, keep it up, mate!
